ينظم مركز دراسات البحر المتوسط التابع لمكتبة الإسكندرية سلسلة من المحاضرات تضم خبراء منطقة البحر المتوسط تحت عنوان "فكر في البحر المتوسط"، منطقة البحر المتوسط بين الثقافات.
سيقدم المحاضرة الأولى في ٩ مايو ٢٠٠٦ الدكتور كريستين برومبرجر، أخصائي الأعراق البشرية بجامعة بروفنس بفرنسا، والدكتور محمد توزي، أخصائي علم الإنسان السياسي من جامعة حسن عين تشوك بالدار البيضاء. وستركز المناقشات على "منطقة المتوسط بين الثقافات"، مع إلقاء الضوء على منطقة المتوسط كنظام ملئ بالاختلافات التي يكمل بعضها البعض والتشابهات فيما يخص الأزياء والسلوك، والمعتقدات- فإن منطقة المتوسط مكاناً تتنوع فيه الأبعاد الثقافية وتعدد الثقافات والأعراق بشكل متجانس.
“Thinking the Mediterranean” is a cycle of seven lectures which will start in May 2006 and continue till September 2007 organized by the Alexandrian and Mediterranean Research center (AlexMed) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The event aims at organizing vibrant discussions focused on the Mediterranean legacy and its strength as a melting pot zone of exchanges and cultural interaction.
The lectures will cover a number of vital issues including: the Mediterranean - a strategic question; the Mediterranean among cultures; cities of the Mediterranean, the Mediterranean - a religious space, etc.
In order to foster high quality discussion, the lectures will host prominent scholars and writers of the region. In this context, AlexMed aims at reviving the Alexandrian natural role for dialogue among cultures through the city’s spirit of diversity, tolerance and cooperation in the Mediterranean.
